‘Viridescent’ is an abstract aerial photograph of a Salt Lake located on the Yorke Peninsula. Viridescent comes from Latin, meaning greenish or becoming green.
I love the variations in textures across the photograph, the light greens on the salt flats, where the salt has been scraped away, leaving behind a mix of granulated and textured patterns and colours. The water at different stages of evaporation also provided some colour variations from darker greens to almost soft blue-green water. The land which also separates the areas provides interesting viewing, with little piles of salt and soil piled up, and for the eagle eye, you’ll also spot old telephone posts left behind.
The photograph is printed on 310gsm 100% cotton rag archival paper. Other printing options are available, including size, matts, frames, and canvas. Please message me for customised options and costings.
