‘Pungari’ is an aerial photo of The Bluff. It is a headland located on the south coast of Fleurieu Peninsula in Encounter Bay, South Australia.

Taking photographs has given me a chance to explore and get to know more about the places I take photos of, and I am often drawn to the traditional landowners and the stories from their history. The name Pugari (the seal man) comes from a small part of a story by Aboriginal Elders from the Ramindjeri, the story of Kondoli (The Whale man) and how he brought fire to his country.

Victor Harbor and Encounter Bay are home to a diverse range of native wildlife, including seals, dolphins, and South Australia’s Marine emblem, the Leafy Sea Dragon all call the waters surrounding Victor Harbor and the Fleurieu home.

The photograph is printed on 260gsm premium white satin lustre paper. Other printing options are available, including size, matts, frames, and canvas. Please message me for customised options and costings.
