‘”Parnpangka” is an abstract photograph of the shoreline with runoff spilling into the pink salt ponds of Lake Bumbunga, South Australia. Lake Bumbunga is derived from the Aboriginal word “Parnpangka”, meaning “rainwater lake”.
When flying over this location, I was taken aback by the striking colours from the water runoff against the pink salt water, looking like spilt ink.
Cheetham Salt Company uses the lake for salt harvesting for its works to the northeast of the town and its major employer. Lake Bumbunga is known for its beautiful pink and blue water and salt that is on display throughout the year.
The photograph is printed on 310gsm 100% cotton rag archival paper. Other printing options are available, including size, matts, frames, and canvas. Please message me for customised options and costings.
