‘Mare Pacificum’ (peaceful sea) is an abstract aerial photograph of evaporated salt lake in Lake Tyrrell in Victoria. The remains of salt, soil and water provide an interesting abstract image that reminds me of a beach, the blues of the ocean crashing against the peach and caramel colours of the sand.

Lake Tyrrell is located about 6 miles (10 km) North of Sea Lake. It is a shallow, salt-crusted depression in the Mallee district of northwest Victoria, Australia. The name ‘Tyrrell’ is derived from the local Wergaia word for ‘sky’.

The photograph is printed on 310gsm 100% cotton rag archival paper. Other printing options are available, including size, matts, frames, and canvas. Please message me for customised options and costings.
