Jupiter #2 is the second of two abstract aerial salt lake photographs in the Jupiter Series.
I was so happy with the results from the first Jupiter photograph I decided to take another and try and replicate another. My photographic journey of abstract and aerial photography has seen me experiment and explore new techniques in order to capture my photographic subjects best. Whilst very similar to the first Jupiter photograph, the journey to replicate the elements of the first Jupiter photograph was not easy in this photograph; it’s not just copying and pasting the settings of the first. People often ask me are those colours actually the colours of the landscape, and the answer is yes; I simply work with the colours in the photograph and enhance them to create an artwork.
The salt lake is located in St Kilda, South Australia. St Kilda is a flat, low-lying suburb mostly less than 2 metres (6 ft 7 in) above sea level, once dominated by extensive salt crystallisation lagoons; many of the salt fields have closed, and land and water rehabilitation are taking place.
The photograph is printed on 310gsm 100% cotton rag archival paper. Other printing options are available, including size, matts, frames, and canvas. Please message me for customised options and costings.
